Name/Title Stone, vitrified
Media/Materials stone
Description Due to the proximity of known Bronze Age burial cists, an archaeological evaluation was carried out by GUARD Archaeology Ltd of an area proposed for development at Allanton. The trial trench evaluation encountered two isolated archaeological features comprising a small post-hole and a shallow pit, none of which are deemed archaeological significant. This piece of vitrified stone was found with two other objects, a piece of flint, possibly a scraper and a piece of medieval pottery.
