Description Officers' private purchase. Consists of a wooden board with a compass embedded at the top, and two rollers at each side. Across the face of the board and wound around the rollers is a roll of graph paper, on which is a hand-drawn map. On the reverse of the board are two leather fastening straps, and a clinometer. The hand-drawn map shows the area around Horsenden Hill and is dated 30 July 1914, and is signed with an unidentified signature.
