| Chatelaine. Metal, brass plated. Belt clip - design of flowers and a young girl. Four hanging chains with a small clip at end. Attached - Small circular compact containing a mirror, sliding lid. Scent bottle - only the lid, neck and collar remain (metal). Booklet - 2 metal covers with two sheets of ivory - held at top. Fourth chain empty. A chatelaine is an ornamental bunch of short chains for keys, scissors, etc, atached to a waist belt in Victorian times. Belonged to donors' family in Strathaven.
