Tunnock’s Bakery was established by Thomas Tunnock in 1890 in Uddingston. Originally it operated as a bakery and purveyor, until the 1950’s when the four products which it has become so well known for emerged: Caramel Wafers, Caramel Logs, Snowballs and Teacakes. The company is still a family run business and employs 550 staff, they also export Tunnock’s products all over the world and they are particularly popular in the Middle East.
