| Class photograph of girls class in Strathaven Academy. Margaret Mackay Anderson is middle of front row. Photograph is believed to have been taken around 1913. In card mount with makers stamp of M. Pearlmann.
Items from this archive relate to the Anderson family of Strathaven. David Fyfe Anderson (senior) was a draper in Waterside Street in the town and was married to Mary Ann Anderson (nee MacKay), their son David Fyfe Anderson attended Strathaven Academy and Glasgow Academy where he was dux and he later went on to become an eminent doctor in Glasgow. Daughter Margaret Mackay Anderson attended Strathaven Academy and Hamilton Grammar where she was dux, she later studied German and French at Glasgow University. |
