| Scotch Education Department Certificate certifying that Mary Anne Mackay obtained a first class in the Elementary Stage of Hygiene at the Examination held by the Department of Science and Art in 1898. Signed by H. Craik.
Items from this archive relate to the Anderson family of Strathaven. David Fyfe Anderson (senior) was a draper in Waterside Street in the town and was married to Mary Ann Anderson (nee MacKay), their son David Fyfe Anderson attended Strathaven Academy and Glasgow Academy where he was dux and he later went on to become an eminent doctor in Glasgow. Daughter Margaret Mackay Anderson attended Strathaven Academy and Hamilton Grammar where she was dux, she later studied German and French at Glasgow University. |
