David Fyfe Anderson (senior) was a draper in the town, his son David Fyfe Anderson attended Strathaven Academy and Glasgow Academy where he was dux and he later went on to become a eminent doctor in Glasgow. Daughter Margaret Mackay Anderson attended Strathaven Academy and Hamilton Grammar where she was dux, she later studied German and French at Glasgow University. |
