Description Gifted to the troops serving abroad in the Boer War at Christmas 1900 by Queen Victoria. The tin originally contained chocolate. It has a blue edge with red front and embossed image of Queen Victoria and the words 'South Africa 1900' and the words 'I wish you a happy New Year- Victoria' The tins were made by 3 manufacturers Fry, Cadbury and Rowntree and all were very slightly different, this particular tin is believed to have been made by Fry.
