Description Single rank chevron, or stripe, to signify the rank of Lance Corporal. Black, woven chevron on a rifle-green fabric backing. This would be sewn onto a soldiers battledress jacket or shirt, worn point down, to show that the wearer held the appointment of Lance Corporal. This is one of two chevrons that belonged to Lance Corporal Robert Russell Hunter who served with the 6th Battalion The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) in the Second World War. It was folded and stored in a small, brown leather wallet along with formation insignia, medal ribbon bar, and identification discs.
