Measurements H 0.8 W 4.5cm (H 5/16 W 1 3/4")
Description Small, narrow stripe of black, felt-like fabric. Worn on the upper arm of a soldier's battledress jacket to indicate the wearer belonged to a particular battalion within a brigade/division. In this case, two of these stripes were worn horizontally, under the saltire shield badge and scroll of the 52nd (Lowland) Division, to indicate the wearer belonged to the 6th Battalion The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). The 6th Battalion formed part of the 52nd (Lowland) Division who were trained and equipped for mountain warfare. It was stored in a small, brown leather wallet along with other formation insignia belonging to L/Cpl Hunter.
