Description Spare parts for model loom in glass case which is currently displayed in Textiles gallery in Low Parks Museum.
Box contains 10 small parts:
3 spanners (Small, Med & Large)
1 miniature pair of pliers.
1 miniature shuttle (with thread)
2 counterweights (one within seperate bag as it is quite corroded)
1 small flat-ended tool (looks like a key for opening a tin)
1 small piece of folded brass
1 Winding key with modern-looking metal knob/handle (sticker on original box indicated that this ios not part of the model)
Model was awarded a bronze medal at the National Trades and Industrial Exhibition in Glasgow. It was made by John Brown in Rutherglen in 1895 and is an exact working model.
