Description Postcard. Showing a studio portrait of a young man in military uniform standing next to a small table. He is bareheaded and wears a Service Dress jacket and trousers, puttees, and boots. On the sleeves of his upper arms he wears two chevrons, showing his rank of Corporal. On his lower left sleeve he wears a single wound stripe, and the lower right can be seen four overseas service chevrons. His hands are clasped over a cane, and a singet ring is visible on the middle finger of his left hand. The soldier is 7311 (later 200530) Robert Sloan, who served with the 1/5th Battalion The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) in the First World War.
