Description White, circular, glazed with blue pastoral landscape scene and floral design. On base: STONEWARE J.T. ANDALUSIA. Made by Annfield Pottery, Glasgow in the pattern Andalusia. Plate can be dated between 1816 and 1873, before John Thomson's sons took over the business after his death.

Annfield Pottery was established between 1816 and 1826 by John Thomson and was sited in the east end of Glasgow. The pottery was closed by 1883. The Annfield pottery produced utilitarian rather than ornamental wares, and exported to Canada and Australia. Items may be marked with Thomson, J.T., J.T. & Sons or Prince of Wales.
