Description presented to Lieutenant Colonel (Acting Major-General) James William Norris Haugh, The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) to show that, by order of the King, his name had been published in the London Gazette on 6 April 1944 as mentioned in a Despatch for distinguished service. Certificate bears a golden Royal Standard in relief at the top, as well as a facsimilie signature of the Secretary of State for War, P. J. Grigg. Certificate comes in an envelope along with card stiffener. Envelope has been slit open at top. In bold on the front ON HIS MAJESTY'S SERVICE, and is addressed to Major-General J. W. N. Haugh, Edenbarnet Cottage, 12A North Park Avenue, Leeds, 8, Yorkshire. Two stamps on front, one red London postal mark, the other a blue War Office stamp.
