| Circular, woven textile patch badge using white, red and black thread. Red bound edge with white background which shows the Hamilton Shield (Thistle topped shield below which are two small 5 petal flowers above an arched and castelated brick wall which stands above another small 5 petal flower) The words " HAMILTON DISTRICT " / " LEISURE & RECREATION DEPT) encircle the shield. Original red thread (presumably to affix the badge to garment) remains in some places around edge of badge.
Under Hamilton District, Country parks and Hamilton District Museum were under the care of the Leisure and Recreation dept. Site assistants and Rangers would have worn these badges on their outdoor wear. |
