Description Wood truncheon with metal studs embedded in body around one end. With a leather strap though hole at one end. A vicious-looking weapon, this club was used in night-time trench raids on enemy trenches. They were not official issue and would be made behind the lines by each battalion. The clubs were usually carved out of wood and then a metal object or studs were fixed to the end to maximise the potential for injury.
