Description Black Wedgwood plate with raised design in white and printed text in gold. Circular, unglazed, Text reads 'Bi-Centenary Josiah Wedgwood FRS 1795-1995'. At centre is a relief image of Josiah Wedgeoowd in profile, with text in gold and white relief design of a wreath of acorns and oak leaves around that. Around the edge of the plate are thirteen busts in profile, in white relief.
On reverse of plate is text explaining that the plate shows Wedgwood and his acquaintances and commemorates his death. Portrayed clockwise from the top of the plate are George Stubbs RA, John Flaxman RA, Sarah Wedgwood, James ('Athenian') Stuart, John Wesley, Ralph Griffiths, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Byerley, Edward Bourne, Sir Joseph Banks, Samuel More, Catherine II of Russia, Thomas Bentley. Plate is from a limited edition of 2000.
