The Eagle Pottery was founded as the Bridgeton Pottery by Frederick Grosvenor in 1869. Grosvenor had previously been a partner in the Caledonian Pottery and patented several improvements in the making of stoneware as well as expanding the Pottery to have twelve kilns. The pottery closed in 1923, as the demand for stoneware declined. The Eagle Pottery produced domestic and commercial stoneware and earthenware teapots and jugs. Items may be marked Grosvenor, Grosvenor & Son or with an impressed eagle. |
